The learning objectives of the course:
To introduce fellows to basic principles, study designs, and laboratory methodology employed in Patient Oriented Research.
To know about and be able to effectively use resources to obtain background information for developing a research project.
To be able to interpret fundamental statistical tests and analyses in published research reports.
To develop linkages with research mentors within their own divisions and across disciplines in the Department of Medicine and within the Health Science Center.
To know the ethical principles underlying the conduct of research.
To develop effective skills for communicating research results.
We want this course to be an integral part of first year trainees’ education. Our goal is to provide an intensive learning experience where the fellows are actively engaged in the educational process. More information will be circulated as the course takes shape.
